Heating is the largest energy expense in most homes, often accounting for as much as 30 to 50 percent of a home’s annual energy expenditures in some colder areas of the country. An energy efficient heating system can help reduce your heating bills and also help the environment. Condensing boiler technology is the most efficient and environmentally friendly form of home heating. And the newest product offering from Crown is no exception. The Phantom stainless steel condensing boiler is Crown’s most efficient product offering yet.

The Phantom is a wall-mounted condensing boiler with a stainless steel water tube heat exchanger. Because it uses condensing technology, the boiler is able to recover heat energy in the exhaust gas that may otherwise be expelled from your home, allowing the boiler to reach high levels of efficiency. The Phantom offers AFUE levels up to 94 percent.

The Phantom offers “smart boiler” capabilities that allow it to recognize your home’s heating needs and adjust to meet the demand. It uses a modulating burner with a 5-to-1 turndown ratio that allows it to adjust its firing rate down to as low as one-fifth of its maximum rate in response to your home’s heating requirements. An outdoor reset function gives it the intelligence to adapt the boiler operation to outdoor conditions. A Honeywell SOLA control with a touchscreen user interface allows you to program everything from the firing rate to the altitude of operation. Together, these capabilities make the Phantom a low energy consumption boiler.

The Phantom is available in five sizes: 80,100 120, 150 and 180 MBH input. It also comes in both CPVC/PVC and single-wall polypropylene venting options. The stainless steel heat exchanger is made from high-grade stainless steel to give the boiler’s internal components as much corrosion resistance as possible and maximize the longevity of the boiler. The Phantom offers a 2-year warranty on parts and a 12-year limited warranty for the heat exchanger.
